Director of Curriculum and Instruction
The goal of the Curriculum Department is to assist schools with assuring that all students are proficient and prepared for the 21st century. The focus is to provide a compassionate, diverse, rigorous, and secure learning environment for every student. The Curriculum and Instruction division is responsible for curriculum, instruction, school and district improvement plans, Extended School Services (ESS), School-based decision making (SBDM), professional development, certified evaluation, textbooks, board policies, teacher interns, instruction for English Language Learners (ELL), gifted and talented, and personnel. Curriculum and Instruction division also oversees Title II funds, leadership hours for administrators, and professional development in the schools.
Core Content- represents the content that has been identified as essential for all students to know and will be included on the stPate assessment. This content is designed for use with, not instead of, Kentucky's Academic Expectations and Program of Studies to provide the focus for the development of the Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT).
